  • No evidence of unauthorized activity on Equifax’s core consumer or commercial credit reporting databases
  • Equifax does not typically have information associated with minors
  • Many consumers are upset at Equifax for not only letting this hack happen but also trying to trick consumers into forfeiting their rights to file a class action lawsuit against the firm in there first 24 hours before updating the terms and conditions of the TrustedID Premier service
  • The TrustedID Premier service provides credit file monitoring and identity theft protection
  • Equifax is offering the TrustedID Premier services to customers free for one year (if they take this offer customers may run the risk of giving up their right to file a lawsuit)
  • If the Equifax customers bank account has been affected they should contact their financial institution ASAP
  • Please note the call center is experiencing higher than expected call volume and customers will want to try back after 5:00 p.m. Eastern time when call volumes may be lower
